Aphrodite’s Birthplace
Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and fertility arose from the sea foam off the southern coast of Cyprus. Near the town of Paphos lies the legendary rock that Greek mythology places the birth of Aphrodite. The middle rock in the distant cluster known as Petra tou Romiou or Rock of the Greek is a piece of Greek history that dates back to the 8th Century BC.
